Aulico + Claude
Use Aulico with Claude
Connect Aulico to Claude and ask about any market in plain English. Claude pulls live prices, symbols and charts from Aulico straight into your chat. You do not need to write any code to get started.
What you can do
Once Aulico is connected, you can ask Claude things like "how is Bitcoin doing today?" or "compare Apple and Microsoft over the last month". Claude looks the data up on Aulico and answers with real, up to date numbers.
This works in the Claude app and in Claude Code. The quickest setup is below. The technical reference for developers is at the end of the page.
Add Aulico to Claude
The easiest way is to add Aulico as a connector in the Claude app. It takes less than a minute and needs no coding.
- Open Claude.ai and go to Settings, then Connectors.
- Click Add custom connector.
- Set the name to Aulico and the URL to
https://www.aulico.com/api/v1/mcp. - Leave authentication set to None and save.
- Open a new chat, click the connectors icon, and turn on Aulico.
That is it. Claude now picks the right Aulico tool on its own whenever you ask about a market. There is nothing else to set up.
Try these prompts
Once Aulico is turned on, open a new chat and try one of these:
- "Use Aulico to find symbols matching tesla."
- "Fetch the AAPL symbol from Aulico and tell me which platforms it trades on."
- "Pull the last week of daily candles for BTC from Aulico and summarise the trend."
- "Compare Apple and Microsoft over the last month using Aulico."
For developers
Technical reference
Everything below is for programmers who want to connect from other clients or call the tools directly. If you only use the Claude app, you can stop here.
Endpoint
https://www.aulico.com/api/v1/mcp
The Aulico MCP server is a remote Model Context Protocol endpoint that exposes a small set of read-only tools, so Claude and any other MCP-aware client can search and fetch instruments tracked on Aulico.
Connect from Claude Code
Register the server once and it stays available in every Claude Code session.
claude mcp add aulico --transport http https://www.aulico.com/api/v1/mcpVerify it is connected:
claude mcp list Inside a session, run /mcp to see status and available tools. To remove the server, run claude mcp remove aulico.
Connect from the MCP Inspector
For development and debugging, the official MCP Inspector talks to the server with no Claude account required.
npx @modelcontextprotocol/inspector In the Inspector UI, set the transport to Streamable HTTP, the URL to https://www.aulico.com/api/v1/mcp, and click Connect. You can then list tools, send sample inputs, and inspect every JSON-RPC frame.
Available tools
The server currently exposes three tools. All are read-only and require no authentication.
searchSymbols
Full-text search across symbols (tickers, company names) on Aulico. Returns matching symbols and their trading platforms. Paginated.
query: required free-text query, e.g. "tesla", "btc"page: optional 1-indexed page number, defaults to1includeMarketStates: optional, attaches live market state for each resultincludeOpenCandles: optional, attaches the latest open candle for each result
fetchSymbols
Fetch symbols by ID, by canonical symbol, or by trading platform. With no filter, returns the paginated full list.
symbolIds: optional list of symbol IDs to fetchcanonicalSymbol: optional canonical symbol, e.g. "AAPL"tradingPlatformFriendlyId: optional platform identifier, e.g. "binance", "nasdaq"page: optional 1-indexed page number, defaults to1includeMarketStates: optional, attaches live market state for each resultincludeOpenCandles: optional, attaches the latest open candle for each result
fetchCandles
Fetch OHLC (candlestick) market data for a symbol on a given timeframe. Custom timeframes such as m65 are aggregated server-side from the closest stored timeframe. The current open candle is included when paging from the latest data.
symbolId: required Aulico symbol ID, obtained viasearchSymbolsorfetchSymbolstimeframe: required timeframe code, e.g. "m1", "m5", "h1", "d1", "w1", "mo1", "y1"lastTimestamp: optional Unix epoch in milliseconds; returns candles strictly older than thislimit: optional, defaults to150, maximum450
Available prompts
Prompts are pre-written workflows that show up as quick actions in the Claude UI. They guide Claude to call the right tools in the right order and structure the response, so you don't have to phrase the request from scratch every time.
analyse-market
Produce a structured analysis of a single market: current price, recent change, trend, key levels and notable market state. Combines search, symbol detail and multi-timeframe candles into one report.
symbol: required ticker or canonical symbol, e.g. "AAPL", "BTC"lookbackDays: optional history window in days, defaults to30
compare-markets
Compare two or more markets over a chosen period: relative return, volatility and pairwise correlation. The prompt picks an appropriate candle timeframe for the period automatically.
symbols: required comma-separated tickers, e.g. "AAPL, MSFT, GOOGL"period: required lookback, one of1d,1w,1m,3m,1y
market-trend
Concise trend summary for a single market on a single timeframe: direction, momentum, recent high and low. Lighter than the full market analysis when you already know what you are looking at.
symbol: required ticker or canonical symboltimeframe: required candle timeframe, one ofh1,h4,d1,w1
Rate limits and fair use
The endpoint is rate limited to 300 requests per minute per IP. Limit headers are returned on every response (RateLimit-Limit, RateLimit-Remaining, RateLimit-Reset). When the limit is exceeded, the server responds with HTTP 429.
The server is read-only and does not store anything you send. We log the anonymized request rate to monitor abuse.
Troubleshooting
Most issues fall into one of three buckets:
- The connector cannot be added on Claude.ai: double-check the URL is exactly
https://www.aulico.com/api/v1/mcp(no trailing slash, no query string) and that authentication is set to None. - Claude says no tools are available: open the Inspector and run
tools/listagainst the same URL. If the Inspector sees the tools but Claude does not, the connector likely needs to be re-enabled in the chat sidebar. - Requests return HTTP 429: you have hit the per-IP rate limit. Wait for the window to reset (see the
RateLimit-Resetheader) and slow down the call rate.
If the issue is reproducible, capture the request and response from the Inspector and include them when you contact support.
